Our Story

The Soul of Three Sost, meaning "three" in Amharic, was born from three siblings, built on four floors, and inspired by the synergy of three concepts. Sost is where Black and African Diaspora traditions meet Western flair, creating a harmony as unique as our story.

Housed in historic Shaw, D.C., in a building that once served as an Ethiopian community center, Sost draws inspiration from its roots, carrying forward a legacy of connection and collaboration.

Each of our three distinct spaces—the Hybrid Café, Vinyl Room, and Resto-Lounge—offers a unique experience while fostering a shared passion for building community through monthly arts and music programming that draw from the visual and rhythmic storytelling of the Black and African Diaspora. We're more than a place; we're a celebration.
